| Preface These chapters are about the vital importance of a personal spiritual effort. Socializing in the context of worship and talking about God have their time and place. But they will never be able to replace the most valuable aspect of communion with God—a deep personal effort when there is nobody else around but the Presence. This material will help you understand that when we pray, we should not attempt to influence God. God gave us His individualized Presence that will be with us forever. The Presence contains all the good that we can possibly imagine. This good is ours already, so why beg for it? All we need to do is attune ourselves regularly to the indwelling Presence. Eventually, all the “blessings that already are” in potential will manifest in our physical reality. Faith can transcend all limitations of mind and flesh and reunite us with the presence of God within us. Read this material with your heart. Your heart will never let you accept anything that is not good for you, whereas your mind can be easily tricked. Consider the following possibility: A health crisis that disrupts our life and tests our faith may just be an opportunity to begin seeking God in earnest. We support you wholeheartedly in this effort and wish you or your loved one a speedy and complete recovery.
