Watch Your Heart

Who are we? We should attune ourselves to the Spirit within as often as we can and ask ourselves this question, “Who am I?” And listen. It is through this listening attitude that the realization will come.

Do we perceive ourselves as being separate from others and from God? Do we completely identify with our body, mind and the senses most of the time? Or do we have an occasional inkling that we may actually be a soul that has this wondrous potential of becoming one with Spirit?

Think of a butterfly for a moment. Multiply the wonder of its stages of development a million times and you won’t get even close to the awesome miracle of spiritual transformation.

We were born to seek and realize our oneness with God and humanity—not to deepen our illusion of separation.

What is the true meaning of the golden rule, “Do unto others…”? Why do you think a prayer for another person works? Because there are no “others”. It is ourselves together, one consciousness, all the time. Praying for others, we are praying for ourselves. Behind the seeming separateness there is a unified field of one group mind, one collective pool of thoughts and emotions. When we feel love, we reinforce the possibility of love for everyone. When we feel hate, we reinforce the possibility of hate. With negative feelings and thoughts we literally contaminate the common pool of consciousness. With positive loving feelings and thoughts we are cleansing and uplifting everyone.

What is in our heart? Is it mostly love, forgiveness and peace, or is it hate, desire for revenge, and a possibility of war? Remember that we all add up to the grand total of humanity. It is pure mathematics. This is how the state of the world becomes our personal responsibility.

We can deceive others, and we can even deceive ourselves. But we can never deceive God who is closer to us than our mind and heart. He has to deal with what is in our heart. He can only give to us in accordance with the contents of our heart. He can heal us if we make a regular effort to cleanse and refine the contents.

Watch your heart closely all the time.
