Q:   From what you say, when we are in a deep meditative state, healing must be affirmed as an accomplished state, which has to be done with great precision. So, for example, if I pray for a restoration of a disfigured part of my face, I should imagine it as having a specific shape and form as our brain needs to have a very detailed picture. On the other hand, you are saying that we need to surrender our will to God's Will and release any attachments to the outcome. For me, it sounds like a contradiction. God may have a different picture of this part of my face that needs to be restored. As I do not know what God's Will is and I have to release any attachment to the outcome, how can I be precise in imagining an accomplished state?

A:   Every known human language is based on intellectual perception of reality. By its very nature, intellect is the product and essence of duality. When we rely predominantly on our intellect, we become bound by duality: Pairs of opposites - pleasure and pain, good and bad, etc. When we meditate and practice remembering the presence of God, we dramatically reduce the grip of duality, and all seeming contradictions are reconciled.

I usually do not recommend visualization for healing. Visualization is a powerful tool and must be handled with care. In the context of the healing technique, the word “precision” is used to imply precision of intent, precision of vocal and mental affirmation, and precision of feeling that the prayer is already granted.

There is a school of thought suggesting that one should visualize how the healing is to occur in intricate detail. I beg to differ. Not only is it not humanly possible, but it may be quite counter-productive. By the power of our thought and feeling we may disrupt the natural healing process and create something in our body that is not supposed to be there.

In your case, try to summon a feeling deep inside your heart that God is in charge of your face. My experience tells me that it is not as if there is a god who has a will. God and His Will are one. God’s Will is the very essence of God; and the essence of God’s Will is absolute perfection. By surrendering to His Will we surrender to absolute perfection.

Give your face to God, let Him re-build it. You do not want somebody else’s face - you want a face that is in perfect harmony with the rest of your body, your character and personality. In the Mind of God there is an accurate record and a perfect blueprint of what your face should be like. Let God visualize for you. Trust Him.

It is quite possible that you will be guided to the right plastic surgeon, and that the means will be provided for the necessary operations. It is also quite possible that God will correct the problem by other means.

I would suggest that you lovingly confront God and ask Him what lesson He wants you to learn through this experience and whether or not you have learnt it already. If there is anything you may have done, knowingly or unknowingly, that may have caused this condition, ask for His forgiveness and mean it. Ask Him also to speed up your learning process.
