| Non-sectarian healing prayer technique | Can prayer heal | How to pray for healing | Healing power of prayer | Brother Aleksei, a nonsectarian monk, explains how you can heal yourself and others through prayer and meditation |
In a wakeful conscious state, we open all surface “doors” for the sensory information to come in unobstructed and shape our thoughts and feelings. We tend to judge by appearances, and by dwelling on them at length we unintentionally reinforce the cause that made the condition manifest in the first place. And, of course, it is equally true of both pleasant and not so pleasant appearances and their causes.

All inner doors through which Spirit can enter to do its work remain shut for as long as the outer doors remain open. In the process of affirming God’s healing presence, the inner doors must be opened in the right sequence. The
Guide to Effective Prayer explains how you can do it. It was written specifically for users of the prayer and meditation tool and will be included with your personalized prayer/photo mount.

These prayers, crafted by the soul, can be very powerful if used correctly. Every sentence and every rhythm count. You should repeat the text very slowly with a clear realization of what every word means, as you gradually begin to “flow” into a deep meditative state.

The two prayers have some similarities as far as their text is concerned. However, they should be offered from two distinctly different perspectives: Praying for yourself, you exercise your own freedom of choice—you choose God to be your Healer. Praying for another, you should not presume that asking for God’s help would be that person’s free choice. The emphasis should be upon asking God to help that person become more receptive to the healing Presence. The
Guide to Effective Prayer elaborates on this and other important aspects of a successful spiritual effort.

Prayer for Healing (Yourself)

“Dear Lord, thank you.

Thank you for creating me,
Thank you for your gift of consciousness,
Thank you for sustaining me.
I am your grateful child Michael*.

Behind all healing methods and all physicians,
You are the only Healer, Lord.
You are all-knowing, all-powerful, everywhere present.
Where you are there is perfect health.

You are in my lungs*, you are in my blood,
You are in my every cell and every organ.
Shine your healing light throughout my body, Lord.
Make it whole again.

In my heart I worship you, Lord.
In my mind I worship you, Lord.
In my body I worship you, Lord.
In my soul I worship you, Lord.
Cleanse my heart, mind, body and soul,
Make me whole again.

Thank you, Lord, for your love and your healing presence,
Help me always know your perfect Will.
Amen”.

Prayer for Healing (Another Person)

“Dear Lord, thank you.

Thank you for your child Mary*,
Thank you for helping her* before she* asks for help.
May I pray on her behalf?

Behind all healing methods and all physicians,
You are the only Healer, Lord.
You are all-knowing, all-powerful, everywhere present.
Where you are there is perfect health.

You are in her liver*, you are in her blood,
You are in her every cell and every organ.
You are in and around Mary,
Always present where she is.

Touch her heart, mind, body and soul, Lord.
Give her courage and strength to cope and endure,
Give her faith and will to remember you,
Help her accept your loving care,
Help her receive your healing light.
Make her whole again.

Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer.
May your Will be done.
May your perfect plan for Mary’s life continue to unfold.
Amen”.

*The asterisks indicate the elements that are to be personalized throughout the text: The first name, the gender, and the area to be healed.
